Weather

October in St. Thomas brings warm, tropical weather—perfect for conference sessions and beachside time. Expect daytime temperatures of mid‑80s to low 90s°F (29–32°C), with evenings cooling to mid‑70s°F (24–26°C). Occasional showers are possible, but the overall still favors outdoor enjoyment.

Transportation

Flight Information

Cyril E. King Airport (STT) is the main hub for reaching St. Thomas, with direct flights from major U.S. cities. The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef is just a quick 15–20-minute drive away.

Taxis

Taxis are readily available at the airport, typically ranging from $20–$30 USD to the resort. Be sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.

Travel Requirements for U.S. Virgin Islands

U.S. citizens do not require a passport to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands, though a government-issued ID is recommended. Other considerations:

Identification: A valid state driver’s license or photo ID is required for air travel.

Customs: No clearance is needed upon arrival, but certain goods may be regulated when returning to the mainland.

Health & Safety: Travel insurance with medical coverage is advisable. Serious cases may require evacuation.

On Departure: Customs processing occurs upon return to the U.S., not upon arrival in the USVI.

Currency

The local currency is the U.S. Dollar (USD). Credit cards are widely accepted, but having some cash on hand is handy for small purchases or tips. ATMs are located at the airport and the resort.
