Big Sky Weather

In July, Big Sky, Montana experiences pleasant summer weather, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities. Expect daytime temperatures to range from the mid-70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit (24-29°C), with cooler evenings dropping to the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit (4-15°C). With low humidity and plenty of sunshine, the weather is perfect for exploring the great outdoors.

2. There are two restaurants located in the Arrowhead Mall (adjacent to Summit Hotel):

The Cabin Bar & Grill: Located within Big Sky Resort, The Cabin offers a cozy dining experience with hearty dishes like prime rib and seafood pasta. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the trails.

Scissorbills Saloon: Scissorbills is known for its laid-back atmosphere and comfort food favorites. Enjoy burgers, wings, and a wide selection of local beers.

3. Big Sky Meadow/Town Center Restaurants (Make your reservations early to avoid disappointment):

a. Michelangelo’s: Michelangelo’s offers an Italian dining experience in Big Sky. Enjoy classic Italian dishes like pasta, risotto, and seafood, all crafted with authentic recipes and fresh ingredients.

b. Olive B’s Big Sky Bistro: For a blend of American and French cuisine, Olive B’s is a must-visit. Known for its warm atmosphere and delectable dishes like the lamb shank and duck confit, this bistro is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

i. Block 3: A trendy spot at the Wilson Hotel, Block 3 offers a modern take on classic American dishes. Enjoy a range of options from burgers to creative appetizers in a stylish setting.

j. Alberto’s Mexican Cuisine: Enjoy vibrant Mexican flavors at Alberto’s. Their menu features everything from tacos and burritos to traditional dishes like mole, fajitas, enchiladas, and chile rellenos. (No reservations)

k. The Corral Steakhouse & Bar: Known for its hearty Western fare, The Corral serves up steaks, burgers, and ribs in a classic Montana setting. Hearty breakfasts for those headed to West Yellowstone!

l. Taco Buses: For a quick and delicious meal, visit one of Big Sky’s two taco buses. These mobile eateries offer a variety of tacos, burritos, and other Mexican favorites. One is located next to Ace Hardware. The other one is across from Conoco gas station.

Exciting Activities in Big Sky

Hiking: Explore the vast network of trails that Big Sky has to offer. From the serene Ousel Falls Trail (in Big Sky meadow) to the challenging Beehive Basin (just north of the resort), there’s a hike for every skill level. Hiking apps like AllTrails & Komoot can lead you to a hiking adventure you won’t soon forget.

Yellowstone National Park: Just a short drive from Big Sky (West entrance), Yellowstone National Park offers an unforgettable day trip. Join a guided tour to see iconic sights like Old Faithful, the Grand Prismatic Spring, and the abundant wildlife (please, don’t pet the hairy cows), or drive yourself and discover the park at your own pace. The GuideAlong app provides a narrated driving tour of the park (download prior to entering park- cell service is non-existent in most parts of the park). Bozeman: Located an hour from Big Sky, Bozeman has lots of things to do for all ages. The Museum of the Rockies is a cultural and natural institution and has one of the best collections of dinosaur bones in the the Rockies. Music in the Mountains: Thursday, July 11th, 6-10pm. Family friendly concert with opening acts at 6:30pm & the headliner following at 8pm. Ample food trucks & beverage vendors. Located at Len Hill Park (Town Center). Headliner is El Laberinto del Coco (Puerto Rican bamba-style fusion).

Big Sky Rodeo: Don’t miss the Big Sky Rodeo on July 12, 2024. This exciting event showcases traditional rodeo competitions such as bronc riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling & roping.
